Hotel Zaguan Del Darro - Granada

Polite staff speaking good English. I found the staff most helpful, at any time of day and night they answered any sorts of questions regarding traveling around Spain. Location of the hotel is the very best for sightseeing - at the river and Alhambra is very near - just take a close street up and in 7 minutes you are at the entrance. Wi-fi though in the lobby has strong connection. The hotel interior is very nice. I was accommodated on 4th floor, room 402, the interior of the room was just impressive.The room was clean and neat. My neighbors were quite and there was no noise from the street, nor from the lift or the bar which is located next door to the hotel.Fridge is available in the room and hairdryer (if asked).

The hotel is within a very old building and has a sense of history. It has interesting character and is comfortable. The location is fantastic and the hotel looks up to the Alhambra.the only tricky thing was that we had a car and the GPS wanted to take us through a restricted area. We ended up using a car park about 10 mins from the hotel and walking.

We stayed in a beautiful room (room 301). It was full of character, an amazing vaulted ceiling, and view from a small balcony up to the Alhambra. The interior of the hotel is very tastefully decorated and furnished. Location is great, close to the centre of town and at the bottom of the Albayzin. Reception staff were helpful and had reasonable English.

Fabulous location, at foot of Alhambra, and also at foot of Albaicin -- maze of narrow cobbled old streets. Has a bar/restaurant attached -- great for breakfasts and other meals, and very reasonably priced. Very attractive old building with interesting antique furniture and fittings. Extremely friendly helpful staff.

Everything was great.

The reception staff went out of their way to help and advise us. The location was very good once we had parked the car, we used taxis or buses to get around.

A charming old building in the heart of the Albaicin - perfect for exploring Granada on foot. The receptionists were very helpful - particularly with parking (which is very tricky in Granada!) Our air-conditioned room had a lovely view of the bustling but fairly quiet street and rio Darrio below, and glimpses of the Alhambra high on the hill opposite. Breakfast was not provided, but easily obtained in the numerous cafes and bars nearby.

the hotel his situated in possibly the best street in Granada. With very easey walking access to all major attractions. We stayed in room 301 which had an amazing view of the Alahmbra. The room was spacious and spotless, bed was very comfortable. Staff very helpful. As a bonus The bar joined on to the hotel was also very good.

Lovely location (though a long way from any car park), very friendly staff. There is no catering at the hotel, but there is a very convenient cafe next door for breakfast and plenty of restaurants in the area.

It was interesting being in a restored 16th century house. A tower of the Alhambra could be seen from the passage outside our room. The location is excellent and our room was very quiet. We were able to walk everywhere except to the railway station.

The lighting was very dull outside the lift.

The hotel is in a special spot just along the narrow road from Plaza Nueva, by the little river and below the impressive Alhambra high on the hill. Hotel was quiet (late June) but staff very friendly and helpful. Room was fine, not huge but ok and bathroom was good, nice shower, towels etc. Try to ask for room with view of Alhambra - we were on the 4th floor and cold see two towers ncluding the main bell tower. Hotel in great spot to explore the old town area Albaicin, up to the Mirador with views across the Alhambra at night.

The only negative was the small 'bolster' type pillow - not great if you normally enjoy larger supportive ones :-). But to be fair, it didn't bother us enough to enquire about alternative! And we were fine for two nights. Parking was a challenge but we soon figured St Agustin underground parking with a short walk or taxi to hotel.

Walls are thin--but then aagin, that's just about everywhere.

Location is good. It is at the entry of the old town, walking distance to everywhere. The decor inside is pretty attractive.

My room is pretty spacious which has a hot tub, however, the room was filled with smell when we first stepped in, a smell that it hadn't been used for a long time. Things in the room are not very well maintained, I.E. the hot tub, the fridge.

there was a bit of a smell from the drains, but I think this might be a general problem with old buildings in the area. The rooms we were in, just above reception, were not well sound proofed from each other or from the landing outside

The position is excellent overlooking the river in the old part of the town. The hotel itself has a pleasant public room made from what probably originally would have been a small uncovered central courtyard, it is now glassed over, where it is possible to relax. There appear to be some pleasant bedrooms on the first floor.

The first room we were shown was extremely small just big enough to accommodate a standard double bed which was pushed up against the wall. We asked for twin beds and the staff were helpful and moved us to another room which was better and larger though up a very narrow spiral staircase up which it was difficult to carry luggage. This was an attic room and you looked up at the beams and planking that were under the tiles. The planks were stained black making the room dark. It could have done with better lighting. We visited in April and it was also cold. However, the hotel is small, we got one of the last rooms available. The position couldn't be bettered.
